The members of Bobtown hail from all over (Fort Dodge, Iowa; Boise, Idaho; Memphis, Tennessee; Brooklyn, New York), but they found each other here in New York through Craigslist. For the past 10 years, they've mastered the art of Americana music.
The band's new album, Catching the Sun, showcases the songwriting of Karen Dahlstrom, Katherine Etzel and Jen McDearman, the guitar and banjo playing of Alan Lee Backer, and superb harmonies throughout. This "Sunday Supper" session, recorded in advance of their concert at Rockwood Music Hall on Sunday, October 13, found them in fine form in Studio A.
