The Black Angels: 2017

The Black Angels separated themselves from the musical pack of mid-Aughties Austin by forging their identity as a a rock band rooted in dark psychedelia. The twin guitar, five-piece lineup has evolved through a series of rewarding recordings culminating in the new album Death Song.

That album's vast soundscapes and heavy atmospherics create a mesmerizing world to visit, lyrically examining the personal and local as well as the institutional and global. We’ll hear some tunes from Death Song and get to know the Black Angels better in this FUV Live session.
