Aqueduct Raceway Station Opens On the A Line

New station and "Skybridge" provides easier access to racetrack and casino.
New York lawmakers gathered in Queens Tuesday to mark the opening of the new Aqueduct Raceway subway station.  Before its $15-million renovation, the station used to be open only on race days.

It will now operate everyday to provide better access to the Resorts World Casino New York in Queens.  The station includes a "Sky-bridge" that connects straphangers straight to the casino.

Casino-goer Duane Miller is impressed with the new station's convenience.

"Its better than parking your vehicle and walking through the weather to the casino.  You can use the tunnel (Skybridge) and avoid the bad weather" Miller said.

Queens Councilman Eric Ulrich sees another benefit.   "This new addition will not only benefit casino patrons, but the hundreds of commuters that use the A train." Ulrich said.

The Aqueduct Raceway station is accessible on Manhattan bound A-trains.
