Bio

The Anna/Kate Band creation story cites "two queers and a ukelele" — two theatre majors, Anna Gothard and Kate Foster, meeting in New York City and creating dramatic songs that could be played on that most portable of instruments. Over time they added bass, guitar, drums, and cello and became a full-fledged band.

Their debut album, How to Hold, contains songs that are both personal and political, reflecting the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter zeitgeist, but also embracing the liberating power of love.
