alt-J: 2017
The members of alt-J met in college back in the mid 2000s and released their debut record, An Awesome Wave, in 2012 to enormous critical acclaim. Since that time, they’ve gone on to headline numerous festivals and even played the world-famous Madison Square Garden here in NYC. Their latest album, Relaxer, once again finds them exploring some new sonic textures.
In a recent trip to New York for the Panorama festival, the guys made a quick stop in the Bronx for a session at FUV. We talked about their writing process, life on the road, the influence of cinema in the new album and more. Check out great live versions of new songs “3WW” and “Deadcrush,” as well as old favorite “Tesselate.”
