Alice Merton: 2018

​​Growing up around the world, singer and songwriter Alice Merton was as influenced by other cultures as much as by transience itself.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany and raised in Canada and England, Merton is classically trained and has a roof-raising voice. But it was a life of moving around that inspired her as a songwriter.  Her story gets told in the runaway hit song, "No Roots."

All of the lyrics are true in that joyous, upbeat tune with lines like, "I like digging holes and hiding things inside them."
