Algiers at WFUV

In the spring of 2015, three worldly and well-travelled musicians known as Algiers made their first visit to the WFUV studios to play songs from their self-titled debut album.

The band was remarkable for its sense of urgency and overtly political lyrics. They incorporated diverse musical elements into their songs. Two years down the line, they're now a quartet: frontman Franklin James Fisher, bassist Ryan Mahan, and guitarist Lee Tesche have added former Bloc Party drummer Matt Tong to their ranks.

The new album, their second, is The Underside Of Power.  It’s a pleasure to welcome back Algiers to Studio A for this FUV Live session.
