Adia Victoria is a new talent in the blues sphere with a unique voice and an interesting life: she was raised in the South, in the Seventh Day Adventist church, and always felt out of place — the kind of backstory that can create a good writer.

Silences is her second album, and it's a collection of dark, personal and poetic songs, all co-produced with Aaron Dessner. We talk with the Nashville-based Victoria about that process as well as her love of literature and poetry in our FUV Live session, which starts with a full band performance of "Different Kind of Love."
