Today we celebrate the birthdate of Robert Johnson - Father of the Delta Blues. His recordings of "Cross Road Blues," "Love in Vain," "Sweet Home Chicago" and others became blues blueprints influencing everyone from Muddy Waters to The Rolling Stones to Eric Clapton. Johnson performed and recorded before electric guitars became popular. So let's have your favorite acoustic blues. We'll spin a set after 9am.

Here's what we played:

Robert Johnson "Love in Vain"

Missippi Fred McDowell "You Gotta Move"

Muddy Waters "Louisiana Blues"

Chris Smither "Statesboro Blues"
