D.D Dumbo
Oliver Hugh Perry is an intriguing artist from Australia. Recording under the name D.D Dumbo, Perry is a one-man band, layering his vocals and some simple percussion into intricately woven songs. There's a rhythmic quality to the music, with South African tribal sounds and West Indian desert blues vibes interspersed throughout. He's released an EP named for the title song "Tropical Oceans," which also includes a cool reworking of Roy Orbison's "Crying." Expect a full length debut album sometime in 2015. (Russ Borris)
