The King of Rock and Soul

So bummed to hear of the passing of a legend. Solomon Burke died today at the age of 70 leaving behind a legacy that most artists can only dream of.  I’ll always remember sitting down with the big man at WFUV a few years back.  He was warm and easy going, the most welcoming of men. He made you feel like a friend, not a fan. One of things we talked about during that session was the type of venture he would attempt if he had the time or guts.  His response?  Paraphrasing here, “I’d open up a chain of drive thru mortuaries.”

Rest in Peace, King Solomon.

You can hear that session from 2007 here.
