Hey, Hey We're the Monkeys
Last month we told you about Barry White serenading romantically reluctant sharks. Now comes word of music made specifically for monkeys. David Teie, a National Symphony Orchestra cellist, composed the pieces based on the way monkeys communicate with each other. Cotton-top tamarin monkeys grew calmer after they heard music based on their own calm, friendly calls. But the monkeys became more agitated when researchers played music that contained elements of their own threatening or fearful calls. Listen to arousing monkey music and calming music. This could open up whole new markets for the ailing music industry.
