Tom Jones

The old guys are back and cooler than the new cats. Tom Jones shook it something fierce at Terminal 5 last night -- bringing his new songs and his classics to life in a hip, authentic way backedwith a band sounding quite Amy Winehouse/Marc Ronson like.  Not too cheesy at all. And it was one of the most diverse (as in old ladies in sequins, hipsters, gay guys, 40 somethings like me, etc) crowds i’ve ever seen at a show. And Tom knew how to take care of us all. The new songs sounded great and the audience was very receptive. I recommend his new album--24 hours. The classics got the crowd going for sure--Delilah, Pussycat, She’s a Lady, Green Green Grass--he even gave a Sinatra shout out with Fly Me to The Moon.  By the end of the show the stage was covered in a variety of undergarments --some were not that pretty as far as I could tell.
