Mark Olson and Gary Louris at Zankel Hall

Our FUV curated series at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall continued with the ‘officially” reunited Mark Olson and Gary Louris. There was a lot of love in the room as us Jayhawks fans were finally getting something we’ve wanted for a long time. The show was a cool combination of old and new songs that highlighted their trademark, although truly evolving vocals. Hard to believe “waiting for the sun” and “two hearts” are nearly 20 years old. The guys are surely bringing new life to those.  Think of how Dylan keeps his classic material relevant for him and us (no jokes here).

And  the new songs are good--the very simon and garfunkelly, Saturday Morning on Sunday Street and Turn Your Pretty Name Around both memorable and meaningful.

I did not manage to get a video at Zankel but here’s a good one

Our series continues on March 7th with the ever groovy The Bird and The Bee. Hope to see you there. And stay tuned we are working hard on booking our next season.
