Hard Times Hit Hard Rock Park

Oh, no!  The world’s only rock ‘n’ roll theme park is closing.  I’ll never get to experience Led Zeppelin The Ride,  or buy a gigantic stuffed animal at FunkyTown Midway, or get anything I want at Alice’s Restaurant (a fake version of the real restaurant from the song).  After four years of planning and two years of construction, Hard Rock Park is closing just nine months after opening.  The $400 million park in Myrtle Beach was South Carolina’s biggest tourism investment ever.  Yesterday, a Delaware bankruptcy judge gave the go ahead to begin liquidation.
