Neil Young at MSG
With 3 bands, it’s a long night of music but with the well acknowledged high ticket price in the end the show delivers on concert dollar value.
Neil’s set is a perfect combo of old and new songs. Rockin and mellow. Love and Politics. Beauty and Rage. So much of a dynamic to EVERYthing he does. I was there last nite for night one at MSG. The reviews have generally been great on this tour so i was really looking forward to it. Got there in time for Wilco (sorry Everest) who opened with my fave tune, Impossible Germany, and set the tone for some serious guitar work that Neil would of course toss over the top!
Neil engaged the audience on a few occasions. Joking that he was auditioning for his “new, old, record label and that we should all clap for the new tunes even if we don’t like them”. And here talking about New York at the start of Old Man.
Here’s a set list. If you’re going tonight try not to leave early.
