Now I Can Picture Thanksgiving at The Zappas

Shoppers, merchants and the media may call it “Black Friday”, but for me the day after Thanksgiving triggers memories of  afternoons spent on-the-air with Elton John and Levon Helm.

It was 34 years ago today (November 28th - Thanksgiving 1974)  that John Lennon made his surprise appearance on-stage with Elton John at Madison Square Garden.   Elton was scheduled to be my guest and Co-DJ the next day (Friday November 29th) live at WNEW-FM , so I wound up getting the exclusive story of  exactly what had happened the night before.
