One Minute With: Plant/Krauss at Bonnaroo

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss brought their magic to the main stage at Bonnaroo. A huge crowd in the blazing sun soaked it up on many levels. I mean, here’s a rock legend finding a whole new vitality singing with a bluegrass star. The arrangements and the set list was a music lover’sdream. If you’ve heard the album you know the blend on their voices but live it was really astounding. I was struck by the beauty they were finding in it. You can’t fake that. The crowd loved it when Plant threw out the occasional Zeplike yelp, and iconic mic toss. And with T Bone Burnett and Buddy Miller on guitars and Jay Bellerose on drums this was a truly eclectic, high quality performance.
