38 years ago today, it became official - the Beatles had broken up. On April 10, 1970, Paul McCartney issued a press release announcing he was leaving the Beatles, essentially putting an end to the Fab Four. One week later, Paul released his first solo album, McCartney. In May 1970, the Beatles released the album Let It Be, as well as the film of the same name. Although it was recorded in January 1969 before Abbey Road, Let It Be ended up representing the Beatles’ swan song.
