Watch: The Joy Formidable's 'Wolf's Law'

Welsh-English trio The Joy Formidable  have been working on a followup to The Big Roar and on Wednesday night the band posted a sneak peek of that sophomore album: a dramatic, black and white video for their majestic, whisper-to-a-roar new song "Wolf's Law."

The video, simmering with both the violence and beauty of the natural world, eloquently partners the gentle build of the track which eventually explodes into a seething, oceanic crash of guitar.

Back in July, singer and guitarist Ritzy Bryan told Rolling Stone that the band's sophomore album had "great guitar moments" on songs that "explore greed and materialism and desire."

No release date yet, but it's unlikely that the album will be released before January 2013.

It seems likely that the Joy Formidable will debut its new material when they play the Leeds Festival on Friday and Reading on Sunday. They'll head to the States on September 22 for the De Luna Festival in Pensacola, Florida.
