TAS in Session: Telekinesis

Audio clip: Interview with Telekinesis

"My father was a radio DJ in Seattle, and I remember when I was in junior high, meeting Elvis Costello and hanging out in-studio with Pearl Jam", says Michael Benjamin Lerner, frontman and drummer for Telekinesis. The Seattle based 4-piece band stopped by The Alternate Side recently to perform a set and talk about their self-titled debut album, out now on Merge Records.

At 22 years of age, Michael has been crafting songs since he first started banging on the drums at the age of 14. He had a great drum teacher (Jason McGerr from Death Cab For Cutie).

The debut record from Telekinesis was produced by Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla after receiving a message from him via Myspace. I'm not making this stuff up folks! Check out the interview for all the fun little tidbits..
