Second Avenue Subway May Be Top Priority For Trump Administration
Members of the new Trump administration have confirmed that completing the Second Avenue Subway is a top infrastructure priority, according to New York lawmakers. Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney said a leaked document showed the Second Avenue Subway may receive up to 14 billion dollars in federal funding. Maloney said if the document is verified, the additional funding could expedite the completion of the subway.
"With this plan, there will be massive funding up front, which could build it faster," Maloney said. "That's our goal."
The second and third phases of the Second Avenue Subway project would extend the line from 14th Street to 125th Street.
