WFUV’s Jay Doherty reports from Lusaka, Zambia, where St. Ignatius Parish held special Masses in memory of Pope Francis. Nearly 100 parishioners gathered to honor the late pontiff’s decade of leadership. Jesuit priest Fr. Vincent Nchimunya, Director of Communications for the Jesuits’ Southern Africa Province, reflected on how Pope Francis shaped his ministry and supported African religious communities. Fr. Vincent also explained the funeral preparations underway in Rome and how Catholics can remember Pope Francis during this transitional moment. The services in Lusaka highlighted the pope’s lasting influence far beyond Europe, uniting people across continents through his message of humility.
