New Yorkers Protest Trump's Refugee Ban

New Yorkers took to the streets in the tens of thousands for the second weekend in a row to protest President Trump's most recent executive order. The order forbids entrance into the US for refugees from seven countries. Several people were detained at JFK Airport on Saturday as a result of the order. This inspired thousands of people to come to the airport in protest. Protestors also gathered in Battery Park on Sunday. Elected officials from New York and New Jersey gave speeches before protestors marched through Manhattan. New Jersey Senator Cory Booker says Americans must fight to ensure everyone shares in the privileges they enjoy.

"We can not just luxuriate in our freedom and our liberty. We must earn them by fighting to expand them to all citizens and all people," Booker said at the protest today.

President Trump is standing firm behind the order, saying it's necessary for national security.
