Morning Brief: March 18 2016

North Korea has fired a ballistic missile in the sea, according to South Korean and US officials. According to US intelligence, the missile was launched off the country's east coast and flew about 500 miles until it fell into the water. The type of missile has the capability to reach all of South Korea and parts of Japan. North Korea threatened to "launch a pre-emptive" strike against the US and South Korea earlier this year. [BBC]
