Morning Brief: December 2
It's officially the beginning of the Christmas season in Manhattan. Today's the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Festivities begin in the evening. But even if you can't make it to midtown, or don't want to deal with the crowds, you'll still be able to watch it on TV. This is the 83rd annual lighting and the enormous 78-foot tree will be lit up with nearly 50,000 LED lights. It'll stay up until January 7.
