Morning Brief: August 21

Brooklyn's welcoming back the Afropunk Festival in Fort Green over the weekend. The formerly free festival's charging admission for the first time, but it's not that bad. Only $75 for the whole weekend, or $45 for Saturday or Sunday. The line-up includes Ms. Lauryn Hill, Lenny Kravitz and Grace Jones. And there will be more going on than just music. Every year, the festival also features art including 200 feet linear feet of original murals. It'll also feature Activism Row to shed light on the work being done in New York's minority communities and educate young people about civic participation opportunities.
