It is expected that about 40,000 Verizon workers will go on strike today, beginning at 6 am. Workers from Massachusetts to Virginia will be participating in the strike, due to the elimination of jobs within the company and the expectation that workers must relocate. NBC News reports why one worker, Isaac Callazo, is upset with the company. Collazo said, “Through our hard work, Verizon is making record profits while our families are left with threats to our jobs and our customers aren’t getting the service they need.” [full story]
