Janie Barnett is a singer, songwriter, teacher, and networker. Born and raised in northern Virginia, she went to school in New England, before moving to NYC. She quickly got work as a session singer, in part because she could sound like Rickie Lee Jones and Bonnie Raitt. She's taught voice at Berklee College of Music in Boston and been a prime mover for the New York Singers Collective.

As a songwriter, she has her own voice, with mature insights in her new album, You See This River.
