Getting to The Art of It: Streaming NYC Arts and Culture

After weeks of quarantine, many New Yorkers are missing the many cultural attractions the city has to offer. Here are some online streaming options to stay entertained at home.

Starting this week, Northwell Health will stream concerts on their youtube channel every monday. The Series kicks off on the 4th at 7pm with a DJ set from Questlove of the Roots. The livestream will also include conversations with healthcare professionals working on the front lines.

New York City Ballet’s Virtual Spring Season

Take a trip to Lincoln Center without ever leaving your couch. NYCB is continuing their spring season online this Tuesday and Thursday. May 5th will be a performance of Rubies from George Balanchine’s ballet Jewels. May 8th is Concerto DSHC choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky. Great Performances

If you’re missing Broadway, New York City’s PBS channel, WNET and their Great Performances series has you covered. They’ve made five episodes of the series free for everyone through May 27th. They include last summer’s Shakespeare in the Park production of Much Ado About Nothing and a UK stage production of the classic The Sound of Music from 2015.
