Raucous rockers Eagulls hail from Leeds in northern England, the city that also spawned Wild Beasts and Alt-J.  Although firmly rooted in visceral punk and blistering shoegaze, Eagulls bring a sleekly modern and melodic touch to their songs. The quintet might relish turning up the volume and intensity of their live gigs, but equally as important is mood and atmosphere in their sound. The group released its eponymous debut in March via Partisan Records in the States and they'll be back in New York later this month, playing a sold-out show at Mercury Lounge on May 13. Eagulls also had an impressive run at SXSW this past March and did a session for The Alternate Side too.
