  • Video: Clock Opera's "Belongings"

Clock Opera's atmospheric, slow-churning synth pop, led by main man Guy Connelly, has been filtering out of the UK via a series of singles, the latest of which is "Belongings," the first release from the group's upcoming Moshi Moshi debut album, due out this fall. The single dropped last week, May 9, and the handsome video accompanying it, directed by Clock Opera bassist Andy West, is a slightly hirsute, but visually striking five-minute sojourn from the depths of a tube station to the stars. [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnDqI_F6pnQ] Connelly, who drives Clock Opera and spent time The Corrections and The Fall Out Trust, has done remixes for Yeasayer, Tracey Thorn, Bloc Party, The Drums and Everything, Everything, and is reportedly recording the band's debut album with Radiohead engineer Graham Stewart of Kid A fame. They'll be doing a few festivals in the UK and Europe this summer, including London's Field Day on June 8. Clock Opera has released prior singles like "White Noise" and "A Piece of String,  but another track to check out, via Moshi Moshi,  is the B-side to "Belongings," called "Let Go The Lifeboats."
