Bill Aims to Fix NYC Potholes in Five Days
Winter has taken its toll on New York City roads this year.
There have already been thousands of pothole repairs this season. But City Council Member Costa Constantinides says the city is taking too long to fix dangerous potholes. That's why Constantinides is proposing a bill that would require the city to fill potholes in five days or less.
Robert Piazza with community board one in Lower Manhattan says he couldn't agree more with this bill.
"This is a terrific idea because it gives us something that i'm surprised nobody has come up with before, and thats a measurement, a goal, a target. And that target is an open visibile thing to the public. It should really help things move along and get things done better."
The New York City Department of Transportatin hasn't yet returned our request for comment.
