The Black Suns: An Astrophysics Adventure — Two African American Scientists track a series of solar eclipses

Fordham Conversations Host Robin Shannon discusses the film The Black Suns: An Astrophysics Adventure with the documentary’s co-producer Carla Jackson. It follows two African American Scientists as they travel to different countries to track a series of solar eclipses.  The award-winning film also touches on the importance of diversity in the fields of Science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Carla Jackson is also Fordham University’s Theatre Program administrator.  Listen here.

Ahead of the eclipse on Monday, Aug 21, 2017, Black Suns will be shown in Austin, TX on Friday, 8/18, as part of the Capital City Black Film Festival 2017. Start time is approximately, 5:30 pm. Producers Carla Jackson will be part of the talkback post screening. Details at capcitybff.com. Passes for multiple films can be purchased online.
