Back in 1979 the Koch administration established the short-lived John Hour to shame men who were patrons of prostitutes. Today's "Sunday Supper" is a totally different kind of John Hour, toasting several musical Johns. Two are icons with birth anniversaries - John Lennon and John Prine (including songs by Carsie Blanton, Folkapotamus, and John Paul White). And one is a dynamic young singer-songwriter from Okemah, Oklahoma, John Fullbright, who's been a personal favorite for a dozen years and whose powerful new release is The Liar, his first in seven years.

I'll also feature new releases from Amy Ray and Corky Siegel, favorites by Jackson Browne (also a birthday boy), Cliff Eberhardt, and KJ Denhert, and a preview of Tuesday's "On Your Radar" at Rockwood Music Hall with Aimee Van Dyne, Carla Ulbrich, and  Brad Cole's Bossa Blue.

Come hear Uncle John's show between 5-6 p.m. EDT at 90.7 FM and streaming online, as well as on demand in the Weekend Archives, on the WFUV app or the anonymous smart speaker of your choice.
