Summer had changed to fall, fears of papal traffic were circumvented, and a longtime FUV fave, Shawn Colvin, took the stage at Rockwood Music Hall in the Lower East Side for a special FUV Live concert. The occasion? Shawn has a new album of covers, Uncovered.

In her performance for us, she haunted the highways of Bruce Springsteen and Gerry Rafferty, tore through Paul Simon and Graham Nash, and lent her Colvin charm to songs by Tammy Wynette and Tom Waits.

Colvin played acoustic guitar and Steuart Smith played electric. In a choice that tells you everything you need to know about the tastefulness and tastiness of the project, they noted that pedal steel replaces the sax solo of "Baker Street" on the album.

There are few interpreters of other songwriters in the realm of Shawn Colvin. Enjoy!
