LNZNDRF: 2016

LNZNDRF (pronounced Lanzendorf) is a new band featuring Ben Lanz of the band Beirut along with Scott and Bryan Devendorf of The National. The name of the band is clearly an amalgamation of the band members' surnames.

What is more surprising is how the band actually formed. They were all at a National gig and the opening act never showed up, so the three musicians spontaneously decided to just go out and improvise a set of music.  After that show, the idea to form a band became obvious to them.

LNZNDRF now have a self-titled debut album and recently stopped by WFUV to talk with me about their music. It was a delightful conversation and an impressive live performance.
