While New Jersey's The Gaslight Anthem is on hiatus, frontman Brian Fallon has released his first solo album, Painkillers. Fallon has always been a great songwriter and this new collection puts his strength front and center. His songs have always been incredibly relatable and personal. I was very excited to talk about the new album and hear some of the new stuff live in Studio A.

Fallon and I chatted about his experience working with producer Butch Walker in Nashville, the writers who have influenced him, his unique usage of the word “hallelujah” in song, and lots more. Check out Fallon's live versions of “A Wonderful Life,” “Nobody Wins,” and “Open All Night.”
