There's a tangible atmospheric magic that Adrianne Lenker brings to her live performances. Lenker, who divides her recording between her own solo work and the band Big Thief, recently cast her meditative spell at New York's Electric Lady Studios for an intimate video concert for FUV, playing a set that includes three songs from her new solo album, Bright Future: "Free Treasure" (an exclusive for FUV), "Ruined," and "Sadness As a Gift."

One of Lenker's collaborators on Bright Future is fellow New Yorker Nick Hakim; Lenker, on guitar, was joined by Hakim on piano and backing vocals for this performance.

The core of Bright Future — aside from Lenker's own proclivity for conjuring celestial beauty in her music and words — is the guitar, piano and violin. In addition to Hakim, Lenker worked with engineer and co-producer Philip Weinrobe, longtime collaborator Mat Davidson,  and violinist and percussionist Josefin Runsteen on Bright Future, an album that Adrianne says was "made with all the love in my heart."
