Their last album, The Hazards Of Love, was a 17-song rock opera, and after that The Decemberists wanted to do something shorter, simpler and quieter. The resulting album is The King Is Dead, and ahead of its release, I got a sneak preview when The Decemberists' Colin Meloy stopped by Studio A.
