Spoon on FUV Live, on demand

Spoon has been consistently churning out solid albums ever since its 1996 debut Telephono, and now the Austin-based band has released its eighth full-length album, They Want My Soul. The new songs see the band expanding its sound while still maintaining its unique style of smart and witty indie rock.

On the new album, the band worked with two different producers: Joe Chiccarelli (The White Stripes, The Shins, The Strokes) and Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, MGMT, Tame Impala). I had a chance to ask Spoon's Britt Daniel and Jim Eno about that experience, and also about how the album was influenced by their other projects, like Britt’s band Divine Fits and Jim’s production work with !!! and Telekenisis. During this episode of FUV Live, we’ll hear that conversation and some full-band live performances of the new material.
