Hear Holiday Cheer for FUV artist Natalie Merchant, tonight at 9 and in the FUV Vault.

Natalie Merchant's sixth solo album is her first record of original lyrics and music in thirteen years, but she certainly hasn't been resting on her laurels. Since her album Motherland, Natalie has released a double album of adapted poetry called Leave Your Sleep as well as an album of traditional folk songs called The House Carpenter’s Daughter. She has also been very involved in the anti-fracking fight, made a movie about domestic violence, worked with the NY State Council on the Arts and had a child. All the while, she was collecting songs for her new self-titled release.

On today’s episode of FUV Live, we'll hear some of the new material and I'll talk with Natalie about life, love and of course, music.

[recorded: 5/7/14]
