Franz Ferdinand - FUV Live - 2013
Great Scots Alex Kapranos, Nick McCarthy, Robert Hardy and Paul Thomson first blew us away back in 2004 when they released their self-titled debut. Their style of mixing rock and dance elements with pure pop hooks was infectious and yielded hits like “Take Me Out,” “The Dark Of the Matinee” and “This Fire.” By 2009 – only 5 years after their debut – they’d released two more brilliant albums: You Could Have It So Much Better and Tonight.
Last week, Franz Ferdinand released its fourth full-length album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action so I made my way down to Avatar Studios in Hell’s Kitchen here in NYC to find out more about the new record. Hear that conversation as well as some live acoustic performances of the new songs in this edition of FUV Live.
