Yuck Will Release A Double-Disk Deluxe Reissue Of Their...

Via a cheeky open letter to President Barack Obama, Yuck have announced that they're re-releasing their self-titled debut in October on Fat Possum with six new tracks.

Writes Daniel Blumberg on behalf of himself and his band to the POTUS: "When we were writing the songs that would become the Yuck album we were just writing songs rather than an album. We put the tracklisting together on a whim, and even on the day of mastering we were adding tracks and changing things around. Sometimes it's felt strange that songs like 'Milkshake' and 'Soothe Me' aren't on there. We like playing 'Milkshake' live, and 'The Base Of A Dream is Empty,' that one's nice, and Jonny loves 'Cousin Corona.'"

Yuck, who play Bestival this weekend in the UK, also embark on a North American tour beginning September 22, arriving at Music Hall of Williamsburg on October 13 and 14. They're also on board the surreal-sounding Weezer Cruise this January which also includes Dinosaur Jr., The Antlers, Sebadoh, Sleeper Agent, Sebadoh and more. Life-jackets might be recommended.

The double Yuck album will be out on October 11. Below, check out one of the new songs mentioned above, "Cousin Corona."
