While it might be said that the Oscars were particularly soporific this year, one bright spot was the Academy Award win for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for Best Original Score for "The Social Network." As for Best Original Song, Randy Newman took home his second Oscar on Sunday night for "We Belong Together" from  "Toy Story 3."

Reznor, resplendent in a tuxedo and a long way from his days of wanting to be, um, shagged like an animal, clasped his award, marveling, "Wow, is this really happening?" Longtime Nine Inch Nails fans were likely murmuring the same thing.

As for the other Original Song nominees, Florence Welch, rather than Dido who sang the original of "If I Rise" and penned the lyrics,  joined composer AR Rahman for the performance of the nominated song from "127 Hours." Gwyneth Paltrow sang "Coming Home" from "Country Song" while Mandy Moore, joined by Zachary Levi, warbled "I See The Light" from "Tangled."
