Sunday night's 2-1, double overtime, Game 6 victory for the New York Islanders over the Florida Panthers capped off the franchise's first playoff series win since 1993, ending the longest streak of seasons in the NHL without advancing past the first round of the postseason.

New York captain John Tavares lit the lamp for both Islander goals in the deciding game, once in the final minute of regulation to tie the game at 1, and finally in double OT to send Barclays Center into a frenzy.

The Isles will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round, but before moving on to the next series, WFUV's Leighton Schneider recaps an incredible series and night from Brooklyn.
