Fordham wins first Patriot League game since 2009.

Fordham extended their win streak to three and retained the Ram-Crusader Cup with a 45-16 win on the road against Holy Cross.

The first quarter was scoreless after both the Crusaders and Rams blocked 29-yard field goal attempts, but Mike Marando was hit an 18 yarder in the second to put the Rams up 3-0 after Fordham was stopped on the goal line three times. The Rams went up 17-0 after a nine yard touchdown reception from Mike Nebrich to Brian Wetzel and an eight yard run by running back Chase Edmonds. A Zane Wasp 37-yard field goal got on the Crusaders' on the board, and the score was 17-3 Fordham heading into halftime.

Holy Cross started the second half with a huge 76-yard touchdown catch by Jake Wieczoreck that was nearly picked off by Ian Williams, but a missed point after only brought Holy Cross to within eight. After that it was all Rams in the third quarter. Fordham would answer on their next drive with a Nebrich touchdown pass to Dan Light to give the Rams a 24-9 lead, then added seven more on the next drive after a Nebrich four yard touchdown run.

The Rams would add two more touchdowns in the fourth to Holy Cross' one, and went on to win by the final score of 45-16.

Nebrich had another great game, completing 32-42 passes for 315 yards and four touchdowns through the air and one on the ground, Edmonds had 142 yards rushing and a touchdown and Wetzel had 142 yards receiving with a touchdown. The Fordham defense was equally as impressive with two internceptions, three sacks and an 80 percent third down holding percentage.

The 4-1 Rams return home to Rose Hill to take on another Patriot League foe in Lafayette on Friday, October 3 at 6:30. The One on One Pre Game Report will start at 6:20.
