Nebrich, Fordham D lift the Rams past the Lions.

Fordham defeated Columbia last season 52-7 at Jack Coffey Field to win their fourth straight Liberty Cup. This year, they travlled to Columbia looking to make it five in a row and they did just that, taking the game 49-7.

Two Michael Marando field goals gave Fordham the early 6-0 lead after the first quarter, but the Rams would find the end zone in the second. Quarterback Michael Nebrich found tight end Dan Light for a 4-yard touchdown catch, then Brain Wetzel passed to Light for some trickery on the two point conversion, making it 14-0 Fordham. Nebrich then found wide receiver Tebucky Jones Jr. 51 yards down the field later in the quarter to push the Fordham lead to 21-0.

Fordham added four more touchdowns in the second half, as they cruised to the 49-7 victory over the Columbia Lions in the Liberty Cup.

Everything was clicking for the Fordham offense today. Nebrich went 32 of 48 throwing for 435 yards and four touchdowns. He is now tied with John Skelton for most 300 yard passing games with 11 and broke Skelton's 400 yard passing game record with five. Jones Jr. and Sam Ajala both had over 100 yards receiving and Chase Edmonds had a big day on the ground once again with 174 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries along with a receiving touchdown.

Arguably even more impressive was the Ram defense, allowing only nine Lion first downs, 165 total yards and only allowing Columbia to convert on two of 14 third downs.

Fordham's next contest is their first Patriot League matchup of the season when they head to Worcester, Massachusets to take on Holy Cross in the Ram-Crusader Cup at 1 p.m. The One on One Pre Game Report will start on 90.7 FM, and at 12:50 p.m.
