Demos Dish: Beck, BRMC, Grizzly Bear On 'Hear To Help...
We all have to agree that the intention of remaking Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie's song "We Are The World" to benefit Haiti was a good one, but musically it might not be your style. How about other songs-for-sale that relate to you musically and the proceeds goes to Haitian earthquake relief?
Vampire Weekend, Beck, Of Montreal and a bunch of other bands we play on The Alternate Side have donated some of their music to a new Haitian benefit record called Hear To Help. The compilation, which was coordinated by Filter Magazine and American Eagle, is comprised of rarities, covers and remixes. It is available for download here now and it will be available in all American Eagle stores for just $10 through March 19 (okay, you just might walk out of the store with a Bing Crosby hipster a**hole hat too). How can you resist a garment with a big AE logo on it? But it's a great cause. All proceeds will benefit Oxfam America.
