The Roots, Steve Earle and Rufus Wainwright are among the eclectic array of artists announced for a benefit concert celebrating the music and legacy of David Byrne and Talking Heads at Carnegie Hall on March 23. That storied venue is a bit roomier than the old CBGB where the members of Talking Heads truly began their long love affair with New York City in the mid-1970s.

The show, which will benefit Music Education for Underprivileged Youth, thus far also includes Beth Orton, Bebel Gilberto, O.A.R., Perry Farrell, Sleigh Bells' Alexis Krauss, ZZ Top's Billy F. Gibbons, Forro in the Dark and Todd Snider. Event organizers promise that "many more" artists will be added to the lineup. Tickets are on sale now at the Carnegie Hall box office with various VIP packages available online if you've got especially deep pockets or you're a diehard fan.
